I am originally from the Chicago area, but moved to sunny California after graduating from college.
I attended UCLA Law School, graduating at the top of my class and was a member of the Law Review. My work as an attorney for over 30 years provides a strong business background. My law practice focused on complex, commercial business disputes, with an emphasis on matters involving contract and financial issues securities fraud, accounting issues, real estate and energy. I was named one of the top women litigators in California.
I’ve done extensive volunteer work on issues related to housing and quality of life issues here and in Long Beach, a diverse city where my other home is located. I served as the appointed Citizen Representative to the Community Advisory Committee for long-term visioning and regional planning for the southeast, ecologically sensitive area of Long Beach, which includes beaches, wetlands and wildlife habitats.
I have done volunteer legal work representing victims of domestic violence, and tutoring homeless children in shelters.
INVOLVEMENT AND COMMITMENT TO TAHOE DONNER
For the last few years, I have successfully championed initiatives to improved our quality of life and safety, prevent party houses, eliminate commercial wedding venues in residences, deter risky fire behavior, and retain our family friendly nature and ambiance among other activities:
Chair of short-term rental/amenity task force, establishing quality of life and enforcement procedures to benefit all members;
Spearheaded responding to Accessory Dwelling Unit legislation to preserve our neighborhood;
Vice-Chair, General Plan Committee and liaison to Finance Committee;
Facilitation of member input and participation in numerous Board meetings.
Opportunity to work with members of Tahoe Donner’s wonderful staff, who are the greatest assets that we have in preserving our enjoyment of Tahoe Donner.
Coupled with my long-time home ownership, I’m prepared to be an effective Board member from the get-go during the difficult times ahead.
